Motul launches NGEN Hybrid: A new era of performance for HEV, PHEV
Motul NGEN Hybrid is developed for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs)

Global high-performance lubricants leader Motul today officially launched its groundbreaking Motul NGEN Hybrid range for Asia Pacific in an intimate event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the region's automotive landscape.
Designed specifically for the unique demands of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), this innovative line of engine oils promises to elevate performance, enhance fuel efficiency, and ensure the longevity of hybrid powertrains for modern drivers.

With the rapid adoption of hybrid technology, driven by increasing environmental awareness and the pursuit of better fuel economy, the need for specialized lubricants has become more critical than ever.
Traditional engine oils, although effective for conventional internal combustion engines, may not fully address the distinct challenges posed by hybrid systems, such as frequent engine start-stop cycles, lower operating temperatures, and the presence of electric motors.

The Motul NGEN Hybrid range is engineered from the ground up to tackle these challenges head-on. Leveraging Motul's extensive R&D expertise and commitment to innovation and sustainability, the NGEN Hybrid lubricants feature a unique formulation that combines high-quality virgin base oils with a proportion of regenerated (re-refined) used base oils, along with a meticulously selected additive package. This innovative blend offers a host of benefits for hybrid vehicles:
Optimized Fuel Economy: By reducing internal friction and optimizing engine operation, Motul NGEN Hybrid contributes to significant improvements in fuel efficiency, helping hybrid owners maximize their mileage and reduce running costs. In a test conducted by the oil company, they recorded an increase of up to 45 kilometers compared to a competing brand.
Maximized Efficiency: The advanced formulation ensures excellent lubrication and protection even during the frequent start-stop cycles characteristic of hybrid driving, minimizing wear and maximizing engine efficiency. Tests showed a 10% improvement in cold-stage protection when using NGEN Hybrid engine oil.
Superior Durability: The lubricants provide robust protection against Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI), providing 60% stronger engine defence.
Unlike conventional oils, NGEN Hybrid is specifically designed to handle the lower operating temperatures and potential for fuel dilution often seen in hybrid engines.
During the launch event, Mr. Carlo Savoca, Chief Marketing Officer of Motul Asia Pacific, elaborated on the significance of the NGEN Hybrid range for modern mobility needs.

"Hybrid cars need hybrid oil. NGEN Hybrid is designed to support fuel efficiency, protect engine components, and reduce environmental impact, all in one bottle," stated Savoca.
The launch also featured a technical presentation by Motul Technical Training Manager Wong Che Wey, highlighting the product's benefits.
Motul’s NGEN Hybrid line for Asia Pacific consists of engine oils in the form of 0W16, 5W20, and 0W20 viscosities. There's also a new NGEN ATF VI automatic transmission fluid, and the NGEN E-DOT 5.1 brake fluid. Motul aims to expand its NGEN offering to meet its commitment to sustainability.
With the introduction of NGEN Hybrid, Motul reaffirms its position at the forefront of lubricant technology, empowering hybrid vehicle owners to experience uncompromised performance, efficiency, and peace of mind on every journey.
