Motul Philippines presents the latest addition to its line of lubricants. This is the Motul 8100 Power, a high-performance, fully synthetic engine oil. Motul 8100 Power is formulated with Ester engine oil and is highly suitable for gasoline and diesel engines that require engine oil with viscosity grades of SAE 0W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50; and API SP rating. This gives performance car enthusiasts an extra lubricating edge for their engines, allowing for faster oil flow at start-up, faster oil pressure build-up, sharper engine revs, and faster engine warm-up.

Motul 8100 Power provides a perfect option as it bridges the gap between using a dedicated racing oil such as Motul’s 300V and a high-quality street oil. It is compatible with naturally aspirated or turbocharged, indirect or direct injection engines operating in a wide range of high temperatures. Today’s modern turbocharged engines with direct injection are prone to what’s called “pre-ignition” which indicates abnormal combustion—characterized by an audible metallic noise and associated with a short loss in power. This is called Low-Speed pre Ignition or LSPI, generating very high-pressure peaks in the combustion chamber that can lead to piston damage and ultimately engine failure. To safeguard such engines from abnormal combustions, the American Petroleum Institute (API) has developed the SP standard rating.
