Mitsubishi to bring back Colt hatchback as rebadged Renault Clio
After the Captur-based ASX, all-new Colt will be based on the Renault Clio

The partnership between Mitsubishi and Renault continues to grow. Just last year, Mitsubishi launched the all-new ASX which is now based on the Renault Captur. Not only did the new crossover get the brand's signature French flair, but it also now comes with Renault's hybrid technology. For now, the ASX is available in Europe and may also arrive in ASEAN markets sometime in the future.
With the ASX making a return, another Mitsubishi nameplate is set to be revived with help from Renault. This time, it's the Colt, and Mitsubishi has just revealed new information about it, along with a teaser image.

Looking at the image, the upcoming hatchback features the “Colt” name on the hatch along with the “Mitsubishi” lettering placed at the center. The rest of the car is still a mystery although we did catch a glimpse of the Colt's new taillights.
We have also yet to see the Colt's new face. But thanks to a thinly-veiled image of the hatchback alongside the ASX, we were able to make out what the hatchback will look like. Seeing through the cover, the all-new Colt will borrow styling cues from the current generation Renault Clio. It will get a neat pair of LED daytime running lights, a bold grille, and additional lighting signatures on the side.

The CMF-B based Renault Clio
Since the Clio and Colt will share the CMF-B platform, we won't be surprised that the two hatchbacks will also share powertrains. These include a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder that produces 91 PS and a 1.6-liter hybrid that's rated to put out 145 PS.
Other details regarding the next-generation Mitsubishi Colt are not yet available. However, the automaker did mention that it will debut on June 8, 2023. It will be available in European markets in the latter part of 2023 and will be produced at Renault's Bursa factory in Turkey.
