Mini to reveal all-new Cooper, Countryman EV on Sept 1
Mini launching next-generation Cooper and Countryman EV variants

After a lengthy preview campaign, Mini is ready to fully reveal an all-new Cooper after 10 years.
The date is set – on September 1, the all-new Mini Cooper is making its debut along with the bigger Countryman crossover. BMW Group has listed the digital world premiere on their official Facebook page, showing both the Cooper and Countryman's LED light signatures.
As we've seen from the numerous teasers and camouflaged prototypes, the all-new Mini Cooper retains its signature retro-modern styling with its panel lines all smoothened out. The same treatment was also done to the all-new Countryman that shares its underpinnings with the BMW X1 and iX1.
In terms of specifications, Mini previously announced the EV hatch will have three variants – the entry-level Cooper E has a 184 PS single-motor setup and a 40.7 kWh battery, the Cooper SE gets 218 PS with a bigger 54.2 kWh, and the hotter JCW variant with yet-to-be-announced specs.
On the other hand, the Countryman will have two electric variants – the Countryman E has a single motor setup that produces 191 PS, while the Countryman SE gets dual electric motors to make up the ALL4 all-wheel-drive setup, producing a combined 313 PS. Both variants will have a 64.7 kWh battery unit that gives the Countryman a range of up to 450 km with the base E variant.
Mini will reveal the EV variants of both the all-new Cooper and Countryman first, while the ICE-powered variants will follow at a later date. Once revealed, the all-new Minis will be exhibited at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich before BMW starts production in the Leipzig plant in Germany.
