MIAS 2025: All-electric BYD eMAX 7 to shake up MPV market
The BYD eMAX 7 gets up to 530 km of range and is available with captain seats

BYD Cars Philippines continues to shake up the electrified car market with the launch of another new model. After debuting the Shark 6 DMO earlier this year, the automaker arrives at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show with the all-electric eMAX 7 MPV.
It’s set to stir the MPV market with its zero-emissions powertrain and competitive pricing which is sure to attract buyers who are looking to get an affordable three-row MPV without the carbon guilt.

Beginning with its looks, the eMAX 7 features a sleek set of LED headlights that’s complemented by a shiny metal grille that features the BYD logo. It also gets an aerodynamic front bumper complete with faux metal accents that give it a flashier appearance. The electric MPV rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels and come with 225/55/R17 series tires. Last but not least, the eMAX 7 gets wraparound LED taillights and full-width LED light bar that complements the MPV’s sleek silhouette.

In terms of exterior dimensions, the eMAX 7 is 4710mm long, 1810mm wide, 1690mm tall, and gets a 2800mm wheelbase. It also has 170mm of ground clearance which is more than enough to take on rough roads. With the third row seats folded, the MPV can carry up to 580 liters worth of luggage. This decreases to 180 liters, however, should the third-row seats be deployed.
Depending on the variant chosen, the eMAX 7 is available either as a 6-seater or as a 7-seater. The Standard version gets a 2+3+2 seat layout with the middle row getting a bench seat, while the top-of-the-line Superior Captain comes with a 2+2+2 layout, thanks to a pair of captain seats in the middle row.

Like most BYD vehicles, the eMAX 7 is equipped with the brand’s signature 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system. It supports both wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and gets a 6-speaker sound system. Automatic climate control also comes as standard complete with PM2.5 filtration system. Other key features available in the eMAX 7 include a wireless charging pad, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, leather seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, and rear parking sensors.
All variants of the 2025 BYD eMAX 7 are powered by a single electric motor, albeit available in two states of electric tune. The Superior Captain cranks out 204 PS with 310 Nm of torque while the Standard produces 163 PS and the same 310 Nm of pull. Both versions come with a lithium-iron phosphate battery, with the range-topping version getting a 71.8 kWh capacity which translates to a range of up to 530 km on a full charge. Meanwhile the entry-level variant has a 55.4 kWh capacity that gives the MPV a range of up to 420 km.

Both the Superior Captain and Standard models support AC charging of up to 7 kW and fast DC charging. However, the Standard’s DC charge rate is at 89 kW while the Superior Captain supports up to 115 kW of fast DC charging. Need to power up a campsite or worksite? The eMAX 7 comes with a vehicle-to-load function which can also power appliances while on the go.
For extra peace of mind while on road, the BYD eMAX 7 is available with advanced driver assist systems (ADAS). This gives the electric MPV intelligent driver aids such as forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, rear collision warning, blind-spot detection, rear-cross traffic alert with auto braking, and lane-departure assist.

Pricing of the 2025 BYD eMAX 7 MPV is as follows:
2025 BYD eMAX 7 Standard - PHP 1,498,000
2025 BYD eMAX 7 Superior Captain - PHP 1,748,000
