MIAS 2024: GWM Ora 03 EV starts at PHP 1.288M
GWM Philippines launches 2024 Ora 03 EV with standard and long range variants

It has been a lengthy preview run for GWM Philippines and its Ora 03 EV. But finally, the electric car that’s also known as the “Good Cat” is going on sale.
GWM Philippines has launched the 2024 Ora 03 EV at the Manila International Auto Show. Featuring retro styling on the outside with modern interior features inside, GWM is banking on the zero-emissions hatchback in making its presence felt in the Philippine market.

Size-wise, the Ora 03 EV measures 4235mm long, 1825mm wide, 1596mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2650mm. Its retro aesthetics were styled by former Porsche designer Emanuel Derta, which is why it has similar curb appeal as the Mini Cooper EV that’s being built in China under the BMW-GWM joint venture.

Inside, GWM gives a modern flair to the Ora 03, as it comes with two 10.25-inch digital monitors – one for the instrument cluster, and the other for the infotainment system. Smartphone users will be glad to know that the latter features wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for both the standard 400 and long-range 500 variants, along with wireless charging.
Other features include a rotary-style gear selector, a leather-lined interior with contrast stitching, leather-wrapped steering wheel with multi-function buttons, and toggle switches on the center dashboard for climate control.

The Ora 03’s powertrain is a single motor, front-wheel-drive system that’s powered by either a 48 kWh Lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery, or a 63 kWh Lithium-Ternary (NMC) battery in the long-range 500 variant. The front mounted electric motor puts out 169 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
In terms of range, the GWM Ora 03 EV can reach up to 374 km under the NEDC cycle in the standard 400 variant, while the long range 500 version stretches up to 500 km. The Ora 03 EV also comes with a combined charging system, making use of a Type 2 socket for AC charger and CCS for DC fast charging. Speaking of which, charging time at home with a 7kW AC charger takes about 5 hours and 24 minutes from 15 to 80% SOC, while rapid charging from 15 to 80% takes around 42 minutes.
Standard safety features include dual front, side, curtain and front center airbags, four-wheel disk brakes with ABS, EBD, and traction control, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, ISOFIX anchors, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Other standard driving assist features include a 360 camera, ADAS functions such as adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, hill hold control, plus front and rear collision warning.
The 2024 GWM Ora 03 EV starts at PHP 1.288 million for the standard 400 variant, while the long range 500 version sells for PHP 1.778 million. Aside from the added range, the top-of-the-line 500 variant also comes with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with massage function, power tailgate, automatic park assist and reverse assistance, as well as a two-tone color scheme for the interior and exterior.
For your peace of mind, the 2024 GWM Ora 03 EV has a 7-year, 200,000-km bumper-to-bumper warranty, and an 8-year, 200,000-km warranty for the electric motor.
Catch the Ora 03 EV and the rest of GWM Philippines’ lineup on display at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show from April 4 to 7 at the World Trade Center Manila venue.
