MIAS 2023: Top-spec GAC Empow GE is ready to impress
GAC launches top-of-the-line Empow GE sedan at 2023 Manila International Auto Show

It's been a year since we first saw it, but finally GAC has bared it all with their compact sedan contender, the Empow GE.

GAC has introduced the top-of-the-line variant of the Empow sedan to the public at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, featuring sportier looks than the previously launched Empow GB both inside and out.

For starters, the top-spec Empow GE gets contrasting yellow accents and faux carbon fiber patterns to its front fascia. Finished in exclusive matte fighter green, the Empow GE also gets yellow painted calipers, functional quad exhaust tips as well as 18-inch alloys to up the sporty ante.

Meanwhile, the cabin of the top-spec GE trim likewise gets a 7-inch instrument panel, a 10.25-inch infotainment monitor, and a full leather interior. However, the Empow GE has yellow contrasting accents to its seats, steering wheel and harnesses compared to the GB that has red accent stitching. Other added features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, dual-zone climate control, and power-adjustable driver's seat.

Under the hood, the Empow GE is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo with 177 PS and 270 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that drives power to the front wheels.
In terms of safety, the Empow GE has six airbags, plus a tire pressure monitoring system, among others. For its ADAS features, the compact sedan has adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, traffic jam assist, and high-beam assist.

The GAC Empow 1.5L GE DCT has a special MIAS price of PHP 1,328,000, giving customers a PHP 20,000 discount from its standard pricing. Aside from the GE-exclusive Matte Fighter Green, the compact sedan is also available in the following colors: Elegant Black, Ivory White, and Moonlight Gray.
GAC is showcasing the Empow GE along with its full model lineup at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show in World Trade Center Manila. The show runs from April 13 to 16, 2023.
