MIAS 2022: Chery PH previews Tiggo 5X Pro
Chery Auto Philippines to complete its 'Pro series' offering with Tiggo 5X Pro previewed at 2022 Manila International Auto Show.

Chery Philippines went all out with the 'Pro' line up at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show.
They started with the Tiggo 7 Pro, then they launched the much larger Tiggo 8 Pro, and at the show they had a preview of the new Tiggo 5X Pro.
The new 5X Pro is a major update from the 2019 iteration currently sold in our market. It receives a fresh new face thanks in large part to its new grille and front bumper. The sides and the rear end seem to be carried over. It also gets a fresh set of wheels to match the new face.

Inside, the Tiggo 5X Pro features a fresh new dashboard with a new full digital 7-inch instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch widescreen infotainment system. The revised center console finished in brushed and matte aluminum features the new touch-panel climate control, wireless charging pad, and a futuristic-looking shift lever.
Under the hood will be the same 1.5-liter that makes 114 PS at a very exact 6150 rpm, and 141 Nm of torque at a fairly high 3800 rpm. It is paired with a CVT for shifting duties.

The Chery Tiggo 5X Pro is expected to be the new top trim for the 5X lineup. Given how Chery Auto Philippines has been speccing their cars, we expect most if not all of the options to be available for the local market release. That does complicate things given the ongoing semiconductor shortage and production interruptions affecting the global auto industry. As such, Chery Auto Philippines cannot give a clear timing as to when it will be made available to the local market.
What do you think of the new Tiggo 5X Pro? You can also get a closer look at the Tiggo 5X Pro on display at the Manila International Auto Show until April 10, 2022.
