MG Philippines records strong sales performance for H1 2025
SAIC Motor reports total global vehicle sales of 2.053 million units for the first half of 2025

SAIC Motor, the parent company of MG’s official distributor in the Philippines, has announced strong global performance for the first half of 2025. The company reported total vehicle sales of 2.053 million units from January to June—marking a 12.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
In June alone, SAIC Motor sold 365,000 vehicles globally, a 21.6% year-on-year increase, continuing a six-month streak of consistent monthly sales growth. End-user retail deliveries also reached 2.207 million units, reinforcing a positive upward trend in both production and demand.
SAIC Motor’s focus on innovation and reform is yielding measurable results, with its "new three-driving-force" strategy—self-owned brands, new energy vehicles (NEVs), and overseas operations—fueling much of this growth.
Sales of SAIC’s self-owned brands surged to 1.304 million units in the first half, representing a 21.1% increase year-on-year, and now account for 63.5% of total volume, up 4.6 percentage points from last year. The NEV segment also recorded exceptional growth, with 646,000 units sold, up 40.2%. In June alone, NEV sales reached 121,000 units, a 29.2% increase year-on-year.
IM Motors, SAIC's premium EV brand, delivered over 6,000 units in June, driven by demand for its flagship models—the LS6 and new L6. Meanwhile, SAIC’s passenger car division sold 16,000 NEVs, up 44.1%, with Maxus and SAIC-GM-Wuling also posting strong gains.
For the Philippine market, this momentum translates to greater access to future-ready products. With SAIC’s rapid growth in NEV innovation, MG Philippines is fortifying its position at the forefront of new energy vehicles with the MG3 Hybrid+, MG4, MG Marvel R, MG Mifa 9, MG Cyberster, and the recently launched MG ZS Hybrid+.
MG Philippines also recorded 4,632 units sold from January to June 2025–a strong year-on- year sales growth of 17.9% for the first half of 2025, significantly outpacing the industry’s overall growth rate of 2.3%. As a result of this upward trend, MG’s market share increased from 1.7% to 2.0%, reflecting growing consumer confidence in the brand and its expanding presence in the local automotive landscape.
Beyond sales, SAIC Motor continues to earn global recognition. Recent accolades include:
- NEW MG3 Hybrid+ – Affordable Hybrid of the Year (Auto Express New Car Awards 2025, UK)
- MG – Best Manufacturer 2025 (Autocar Awards, UK)
- MG4 EV – Best Used EV of the Year (AM Awards 2024 & 2025, UK)
- MG ZS Hybrid+ – Best Small SUV 2025 (Wheels Awards, Australia)

As SAIC Motor continues to break global records, Filipino motorists can feel reassured knowing that MG is backed by one of the world’s most innovative and fastest-growing automotive manufacturers that delivers long-term value, reliable service, and cutting-edge models tailored to modern mobility needs.
With MG’s strong global momentum, the local campaign 'Made Global. Made Great.' stands as a promise of quality, reliability, and world-class innovation—bringing Filipino customers vehicles they can trust for the long road ahead.
