MG Cyberster makes regional preview in Thailand; PH next?
MG presents Cyberster EV roadster at Thailand International Motor Expo 2023

The 40th Thailand International Motor Expo is underway in the Land of Smiles, and MG has brought in one of its most significant models in recent years.
Previewed for the first time in the ASEAN region is the MG Cyberster EV, the first roadster built by the brand since its acquisition by SAIC in 2005. It was revealed alongside the IM LS6 EV coupe that's also brought in for the first time in Thailand.

MG Thailand plans to launch the Cyberster roadster within 2024. But as early as now, they have reopened reservations for the EV under the Prestige campaign.
The Cyberster that's on display along with the rest of the MG lineup at the expo from November 30 to December 11 features the familiar red paint and wine red interior, along with the automatic scissor doors. MG says the display unit comes in top-spec trim with the dual-motor setup, producing a combined 544 PS and 725 Nm of torque with a 77 kWh battery capacity. It's capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.2 seconds.

But the other interesting bit is this – the MG Cyberster at the Thailand International Motor Expo is left-hand drive. As we all know, Thailand is a right-hand drive country, and the press release says “For the first time in Thailand and in ASEAN”.
Does this mean MG intends to offer the Cyberster to the rest of the countries in the region, particularly to left-hand drive countries such as the Philippines? If they do, let's hope it's sooner rather than later.
