Mercedes-Benz begins production of new E-Class Coupe
Mercedes-Benz started production of the new E-class Coupé at the Bremen plant, to be available by mid 2017

Mercedes-Benz has kicked off the production of the new E-class Coupé, which is the latest model to join in the brand's E-class model series after the Saloon, the Wagon and the All Terrain off-road variant.
"The production start of the E-Class Coupé is part of the ongoing rejuvenation of our model range and continues our growth path. The new Coupé offers our customers the most intelligent technology, together with a range of high-quality features," said Markus Schäfer, Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Production and Supply Chain Management.

First revealed at this year's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), the latest model is technically based on the Saloon but now featuring a sporty look. In addition, it also shares the same intelligence of the E-Class family such as a full smartphone integration, widescreen cockpit and the latest driver assistance systems with the option of partially automated driving.
Production of cars to client's preference is constructed through an intelligent logistics concept. During production, pre-programmed robots carry baskets containing the precise components and parts required for the individual vehicle to the production line, where they are fitted without the need for intermediate buffering.

The automaker said that the new E-class Coupé is produced at the Bremen plant as part of a flexible system alongside the C-Class Coupé and C-Class Cabriolet. The Bremen plant also currently produces ten models, which makes it the producer of the highest number of variants within the Mercedes-Benz production network.
Mercedes-Benz said that the new E-class Coupé will be available in the market by mid-2017.
