Manila gets custom Overland Kings Hilux units from Fil-Chi businessmen
With over PHP 900,000 worth of upgrades

Not too long ago, the City of Manila received a fleet of scooters to counter riding-in-tandem groups.
Now, Manila has received several units of Toyota Hilux J 4x4 pickups from the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII). And these aren’t your ordinary Hilux units as they’ve been fully outfitted by none other than Overland Kings, with the project personally overseen by its owner, Joel Pedro.

PHP 900K worth of upgrades
So, we got curious about this build, and honestly, it’s so well executed that it puts many of the usual “four-by-porma” mall crawlers to shame, along with a fair number of rigs that actually go off-road.
According to Joel Pedro, each Hilux received roughly PHP 900,000 worth of upgrades. These include, among others: full ARB front, rear, and side-step bumpers for added protection, an Overland Kings custom rear seat bench, Overland Kings custom police setup, an AA bedrack, PIAA POD side lights, 9-inch Adventure Kings driving lights, OME Nitro Charge 40mm suspension lift; TSTEP rear access, sirens, Concept One 17-inch wheels, and Black Bear all-terrain tires.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso personally thanked the FFCCCII and its president, Victor Lim, for the generous donation, assuring them that the vehicles would be used responsibly and maintained with utmost care.
“Pumanatag kayo, kami ni Vice Mayor Chi Atienza at sampu ng mga konsehal n’yo sa lungsod, pipilitin namin maglingap, maging episyente at masinop sa mga kakayanan ng ating lungsod pagdating sa gastusin. Maraming maraming salamat!," said Moreno.

(Rest assured, Vice Mayor Chi Atienza and I, along with your city councilors, will strive to be considerate, efficient, and prudent with our city's resources when it comes to spending. Thank you very much!)
These units will be deployed to the Manila Police, particularly the S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) team, for law enforcement duties and emergency response operations, rain or more rain.
