Malls in NCR open from 11 AM - 11 PM starting Nov 14, 2022
MMDA prompts mall operators to hold sales during weekends only

With the holiday season set to go in full swing, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) expects traffic in the National Capital Region to become heavier as December draws nearer. As a result, the agency recently announced that starting mid-November, mall hours will be adjusted to address the influx of traffic in Metro Manila.
From November 14, 2022, until January 6, 2023, mall hours will be extended from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM during weekdays. This was confirmed by MMDA Spokesperson Mel Carungan last Friday during a public briefing with the media.
“Ang napagkasunduan na po ay starting November 14 up to January 6 the adjusted mall hours sa Metro Manila po ay from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekdays po,” said Carungan.

Aside from extending mall hours, the MMDA said that shopping malls are advised to hold sales during weekends only and to inform the agency ahead of time in order for them to help in managing traffic in affected areas.
This is not the first time that mall hours have been extended during the holiday season. In the past several years, the MMDA has since prompted mall operators to extend their operating hours due to the influx of shoppers during the annual holidays. For the MMDA, they believe that not only does this help in alleviating traffic flow, but it also means shoppers can adjust their visits to malls accordingly.
With the aforementioned policy set to come into effect in mid-November, mall-goers can still visit their preferred shopping centers at their regular hours which usually run from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM during weekdays.
