LTO to open offices on Saturdays in typhoon-affected areas
LTO to accommodate motor vehicle and driver's license renewal on Saturdays in typhoon-affected areas

Aside from operating their offices during Saturdays for Calabarzon from November to December 2024, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) recently announced that they will operate several offices during Saturdays in areas affected by Typhoons Kristine and Leon.
Under the guidance of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, the LTO shared that several motor vehicle (MV) registration and driver's license application sites will be open on Saturdays. In a memorandum issued by LTO Asec. Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza III to LTO Regional Directors cited the need to open District Offices, Extension Offices, and Driver’s License Renewal Offices (DLROs) to accommodate as many clients whose transactions with the agency were affected by the recent typhoons.
“Due to the effects of two typhoons that had hit the country and several work suspensions which affected most of our transacting public, all Regional Directors/Assistant Regional Directors are mandated to assess the necessity of rendering services and opening offices on Saturdays,” said Mendoza.

At least 14 District Offices in Calabarzon alone are now preparing for the Saturday operation. Most of them were areas affected by the flooding brought by Typhoon Kristine. Among them are five district offices in Cavite, four District Offices in Rizal, three district offices in Laguna, and the Batangas City and Lipa City District Offices in Batangas. All DLROs in Calabarzon are now also preparing for the Saturday duty.
Meanwhile, LTO Regional Office Cagayan has already scheduled Saturday operations for all its district offices, satellite offices, and DLROS from November 9 to December 21 to accommodate more clients affected by the recent weather disturbances.
Motorists who were recently affected by the typhoons and need to settle their transactions with the LTO can do so on Saturdays if they are not available on weekdays.
