LTO and Carmona sign single ticketing interconnectivity agreement
Carmona Cavite now has access to LTO's database

Motorists – both motor vehicle (MV) drivers and motorcycle (MC) riders – should now behave and follow the traffic rules diligently in the City of Carmona, Cavite, as the Land Transportation Office (LTO), led by Assistant Secretary, Atty. Vigor Mendoza II signs a System Interconnectivity and Single Ticketing System (STS) Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the said LGU, led by its Mayor, Dahlia Loyola.

LTO Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II
“We in the LTO cannot enforce road safety laws alone, especially outside Metro Manila. We need the LGUs and like the City Government of Carmona, it has been doing very well in assisting the national government in its goal of making the roads safe [for] everybody,” said Mendoza.
According to Mendoza, motorists who were able to escape any traffic enforcer after violating traffic regulations could be later identified once the license plate is obtained.
The same is true, he added, in identifying cars that would break down and cause monstrous traffic jams if they are registered with the LTO since updated motor vehicle registration somehow assures road worthiness as vehicle inspection is one of the requirements.
“The LGU of Carmona City could send us the information and in return, the LTO could issue a Show Cause Order (SCO) to the registered owners of vehicles that violated traffic rules and regulations,” said Mendoza.
“By maximizing the power of information and communication technology, we can update our data [in] real time, achieve better coordination and ensure more effective enforcement of road rules. Who would have thought that with just a simple tap, we can connect with LTO and enable seamless monitoring,” said Mayor Loyola.
“Indeed, we are not only strengthening road safety and making transactions more convenient, we are also cultivating a culture of accountability, integrity and discipline,” she added.
Through this MOA, the City of Carmona soon be able to access basic motor vehicle information from the LTO, which is needed for the swift and efficient enforcement of its traffic laws. Additionally, motorists' traffic violation records will go straight to LTO's database through the STS.
