Manila City Gov't releases alternate routes and road closures for 2023 Feast of Black Nazarene

Despite the low number of cases and positivity rates, the traditional Traslaćion still won't push through for this year's Feast of the Black Nazarene. However, the grand procession will be replaced with the “Walk of Faith", which means the City of Manila will still be closing down several streets from January 6 to 9, 2023.
According to the Manila Public Information Office, the following roads will be inaccessible to traffic starting January 6, 2023, from 10:00 PM onwards. They have also released alternate routes depending on the motorists' destination:

• Stretch of Independence Road
• Stretch of Katigbak Drive
• Stretch of South Drive
• Roxas Blvd. Northbound and Southbound (from Katigbak Drive to South Drive)
Meanwhile, these Manila roads will still be open to vehicular traffic on January 6, but will be closed on January 7, 2023, from 7:00 PM onwards:

• Quezon Blvd Northbound and Southbound (from A. Mendoza/Fugoso to Quezon Bridge, straight to Padre Burgos Park 'n Ride)
• España Blvd Westbound and Eastbound (from P. Campa to A. Mendoza)
• Stretch of Evangelista St. (from Plaza San Juan to Recto Ave)
• Stretch of Raon St. (G. Puyat) (from Evangelista to Quezon Blvd.)
• Stretch of P. Paterno St. (from Quezon Blvd. to Evangelista)
• Stretch of Carriedo St. (from Rizal Ave. to Plaza San Juan)

• Stretch of C. Palanca St. (from McArthur Bridge to Quiapo Ilalim/Quinta Market straight to P. Casal)
• Stretch of Bustos St. (from Plaza Sta. Cruz to Rizal Ave)

• Northbound lane of McArthur Bridge
• Eastbound and Westbound lanes of Recto Ave (from Rizal Ave to Nicanor Reyes St)
• Stretch of Nicanor Reyes St. (from España Blvd to Recto Ave)
The actual “Walk of Faith” will happen on January 8, 2023, from Quirino Grandstand going to Quiapo Church. With heavy traffic expected in the Quiapo area and nearby Manila districts, motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid congestion on these dates.
