LOOK: PH-bound Foton Wonder mini pickup gets customized
From a camping vehicle to a mobile food truck/cafe, the Foton Wonder can do wonders

Last week, members of Foton Motor Philippines Inc (FMPI) and United Asia Automotive Group Inc (UAAGI) visited the PRC to witness the launch of an all-new vehicle. It's called the Foton Wonder, and it's set to arrive in the Philippines.

The mini pickup truck is available with an internal combustion engine (ICE) or with an electric motor driving the wheels. It's also available as a single cab or dual cab pickup, depending on the needs. What's even more impressive is that the Foton Wonder has a 3,000mm wheelbase which is nearly on par with most midsize pickup trucks.

With its quirky looks, relatively long wheelbase, and generous bed, the Foton Wonder has the makings of a workhorse that can be customized in various ways. In fact, the automaker has revealed several examples of the Wonder in different configurations.

Shown during the brand's global Brand Rejuvenation & All-new Products Launch event last week, the customized Wonder pickup trucks include a mobile food & cafe business, a bicycle carrier complete with a roof-mounted tent, as well as a dedicated model for carrying crates.

This goes to show that the Wonder can be dressed up or customized to suit the needs of any individual or business. And since there's an EV version available, it could also come with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system which can power a business like a food truck. Meanwhile, the bicycle carrier/camping vehicle highlights the Wonder's generous wheelbase and customization options.

No other details for the Philippine-spec Foton Wonder have been revealed yet apart from the fact that it will be arriving in the country soon. But with the mini pickup truck serving as a canvass of sorts for businesses, we won't be surprised if there is already interest among local customers once it's launched here.
