Look: LTO reveals new driver's license design
Driver's license gets a new background, but layout and security features are retained

If you're looking to renew your driver's license soon, don't be surprised if the card comes out looking slightly different than before.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) have released photos showing the new-look driver's license cards on their official Facebook page.

Basically, LTO and DOTr only did a minor redesign. In front, the usual blue background has now been replaced with white and comes with some hints of purple. In the back, the chrome strip running through the length of the card is gone, and in place of it is a dashed line that comes in a shade of red.
The driver's license layout was retained together with its security features to ensure authenticity. Plus, the license codes released last year remain in effect.
So, if your license is due for renewal, this feature might come in handy to keep yourself updated on the new look. After all, most of us haven't been to a renewal center in years.
