LOOK: Is Chevrolet launching the all-new Groove in PH?
It looks like we'll be saying hello to Chevrolet's all-new Groove

It seems Chevrolet Philippines distributor Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. is set to launch a new crossover for the Philippine market.
While the bow-tie brand has yet to make any official announcements, Chevrolet's latest vehicle was recently spotted in Metro Manila. Based on the photos, it looks like Chevrolet Philippines is getting ready to launch the all-new Groove.

Based on the pictures, the Chevrolet Groove features a sleek and dynamic appearance that's dominated by the brand's signature dual-port grille design. It also gets distinct LED headlights and a sporty front bumper complete with what looks to be black body cladding. Other noteworthy features of the vehicle include diamond-cut alloy wheels and what appears to be a panoramic sunroof.
A quick check online has revealed that the all-new Chevrolet Groove is a product of the SAIC-GM-Wuling partnership. It's made by Wuling and sold under the Asta/Xingchen brand. However, it's also sold as the second-generation Chevrolet Groove outside the PRC in the Latin and Middle East markets.

Official specifications have yet to be revealed, but based on a new regulatory approval received by Hariphil, the Chevrolet Groove could come with a 1451cc (1.5L) turbocharged gasoline engine. In other markets where the Groove is sold, the subcompact crossover is available with two engine choices, a 1.5L naturally aspirated inline-four and a turbocharged 1.5L four-cylinder that displaces 1451cc.
The former makes 99 PS and can be mated to either a manual transmission or a CVT. On the other hand, the turbocharged 1.5L engine generates 147 PS with 250 Nm of torque and is paired exclusively with a CVT. If the engine size and output figures look familiar, it's because the Captiva and the Groove share the same 1.5L four-cylinder turbo.

Size-wise, the Chevrolet Groove is 4350-4365mm long, 1750mm wide, and has a height of up to 1640mm. It also has a generous 2550mm wheelbase, which makes it quite spacious for a B-SUV.
With the Chevrolet Groove already spotted on Philippine roads, it may not be long before the automaker officially reveals it.
