LOOK: BAIC BJ80 spotted in PH, to debut in MIAS?
2024 BAIC BJ80 has arrived in the country and could be revealed very soon

We already know that United Asia Automotive Group Inc (UAAGI) will not only handle the Lynk & Co brand in the Philippines, but they will also be bringing back the BAIC brand here. Heck, we already received insider information about the possible cars that they will be launching soon. From the BJ80, the BJ60, the BJ40, and the X55 II, it looks like UAAGI has plenty in store for the relaunch of BAIC.
Now, we have just received new photos of what could be one of the cars that BAIC will be launching at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Recently sent to us by an anonymous source are pictures of what looks to be the BJ80.
That’s right, the BJ80 4x4 SUV has just been spotted being transported on PH roads. Seen recently on a carrier, the soon-to-be-launched vehicle bears a striking resemblance with a certain G Wagen. From its boxy shape, distinct fenders, and rear spare tire carrier, the SUV looks rugged and ready to take on the road less traveled.

No specifications have been revealed just yet. However, based on government regulatory approval, the BJ80 will reportedly get a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine under the hood. It makes 280 PS with 420 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. In international markets, the BJ80 gets a part-time 4WD system complete with a mechanical rear differential lock for extra grip.
Features-wise, the go-anywhere BJ80 will likely get plenty of creature comforts and amenities. These include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a pair of LCD screens for entertainment, leather upholstery, a refrigerated glove compartment, automatic climate control with rear vents, LED ambient lighting, and a 220V power outlet.
With this year’s MIAS set in just a couple of weeks, we won’t be surprised if the automaker will hold its big debut at the annual event.
