LOOK: 2024 Hyundai Elantra is handsome and sharp

It was around three years ago when Hyundai revealed the all-new seventh-generation Elantra. Also called the Avante in its home market, the compact sedan not only gets a more coupe-like design but gets a more high-tech and refined interior that makes it more luxurious compared to its competitors.

Unfortunately, we never got the seventh generation as the automaker quietly discontinued the Elantra after the sixth generation due to the Philippine market shifting towards crossovers and SUVs. Elsewhere, around the world, however, the sedan just received a facelift, and boy does it look even better now.

Say hello to the 2024 Hyundai Elantra and its more serious-looking face. Compared to the outgoing model which already looked sharp, Hyundai decided to make the sleek-looking sedan look even sharper for its refresh. It gets a new pair of LED headlights that are more horizontal in design and is paired with a narrower grille that doesn't go all the way to the lower air intake. The front bumper also comes with sportier faux side air intakes which further add to the Elantra's sporty demeanor.

Around the back, the updated sedan still comes with distinct LED taillights, a rakish back window, and a ducktail-type spoiler. Perhaps the only change Hyundai made to the rear is a restyled bumper that features a black-painted trim along with what looks to be an aluminum décor surrounding the faux diffuser.

Inside, the Elantra's cabin appears to have been carried over for the 2024 facelift. Perhaps the only noticeable change is a new interior finish called “Sage Green”. From its namesake, the new color gives the seats, center console, and door panels a special green hue. The 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment have also been carried over from the pre-facelift model.

No powertrain details have been shared just yet. But we can expect the 2024 Elantra to be available with a wide array of turbocharged and electrified engines.

Hyundai Philippines has since moved on from the sedan market and is now focused on crossover SUVs, MPVs, and minivans. But with the company still selling the Elantra in other markets, could it make a comeback here if ever Hyundai decides to bring it back? Let us know what you think.
