LOOK: 2023 Hyundai Accent is one sharp-dressed sedan

Last week, Hyundai dropped the first teaser images of the all-new Accent. Also called the Verna in other markets, the B-segment sedan will adopt the brand's new design language that will see the Accent come with a Stargazer-like front end and more stylish rear.

Today, Hyundai has revealed the first images of the all-new Accent, and boy are we impressed. No longer hiding in the shadows, the four-door sedan gets a futuristic makeover thanks to its sleek new design. Borrowing styling cues from both the Elantra and Stargazer MPV, the 2023 Accent is a looker from every angle.

Beginning with its front fascia, the sedan gets a distinct grille that appears to have been inspired by the latest generation Elantra. It is paired with a low-slung aggressive bumper and a full-width LED daytime running light derived from the Stargazer which gives it a sharp and aggressive face.

More styling cues from the Elantra can be seen on the side and rear of the 2023 Accent. It gets a coupe-like roofline, sharp creases on the doors and rear quarter panels, and a ducktail-style spoiler on the trunk lid. While we may have yet to the all-new Accent's rear in full, it's already quite obvious it will have a unique pair of LED taillights complete with an H taillamp design that looks quite similar to the Elantra.

Other details regarding the 2023 Elantra are not yet available. However, Hyundai has already mentioned last week that the B-segment sedan will be available with two engine options. First is a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that can be coupled to either a 6-speed manual or intelligent variable transmission (IVT). The other motor is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four that can be married to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With the all-new Hyundai Accent/Verna set to be revealed in India on March 21, 2023, we'll be patiently waiting for its upcoming launch next month. Perhaps the only question now is could we see the Accent make a comeback in the Philippine market in the future?
