Logitech's new racing wheel is a gift to pro sim racers

It's a known fact that professional race car drivers use simulators for training, as it basically recreates everything that drivers feel when they're racing in real life, sans the G-Forces.

And like real-life racing, squeezing the last few tenths off lap times in sim racing can boil down to the level of equipment you have. This is why manufacturers offer a wide range of rigs that will suit gamers' needs.

For casual sim racers who just drive for fun, gear-driven force feedback wheels are one of the most cost-effective choices in the market today. However, for those who do professional sim racing and seek the highest levels of precision, direct-drive wheels are the way to go. Now, it's Logitech's turn to launch its very own professional-grade gaming wheel.

It's called the Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel. Featuring a new, high-performance direct-drive system with up to 11 Nm of torque plus TRUEFORCE feedback technology, it delivers one of the most precise and pure connections in sim racing.

The intuitive wheel design means the buttons and dials are strategically located within reach of sim drivers' thumbs so they will never have to take their hands off the wheel. It also has magnetic paddle shifters for that tactile feel whenever you're shifting through the gears. The wheels have a quick-release mounting system, while the familiar shift lights have been retained and are now mounted at the base.

Meanwhile, the Logitech G PRO Racing Pedals now use load-cell technology to provide a more realistic feel. The pedal stiffness can be adjusted firmer or softer depending on driver preference, while its modular design means sim racers can create the perfect pedal spacing they need.

Both the wheel and pedals are compatible with PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

So how much for one of these bad boys? Logitech says the wheel costs USD 999 (PHP 58,000) and USD 349 (20,000) for the pedals. It's definitely pricey compared to the G29 that's available locally for around PHP 17 to 19,000, but that's the price to pay if you like to experience professional sim racing.
