Lexus updates 2025 RZ with more power, longer range
2025 Lexus RZ features a redesigned BEV powertrain for higher output and longer battery range

Lexus has kept a conservative approach when it comes to EVs, but that doesn’t stop them from refining what they currently have in the market.
The RZ is the only dedicated EV model in the Lexus lineup, and this year they have decided to give it an update that focuses more on the BEV’s running gear.

For 2025, the RZ receives what Lexus says is a fully redesigned BEV system that delivers better motor output, an extended driving range, and reduced recharging times thanks to updates to its EV architecture. Thus, Lexus has also updated the RZ model range, starting with the RZ350e 2WD, RZ 500e, and the RZ 550e F Sport.

The new RZ now features a bigger 76.96 kWh lithium-ion battery, powering either a single or dual electric motor setup. In the RZ 550e F Sport, the two motors combine to generate up to 408 PS, while the RZ 500e makes 381 PS. The single-motor RZ 350e, on the other hand, produces 227 PS and 269 Nm of torque.
Performance-wise, the all-wheel-drive RZ 550e can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. The RZ 500e does it in 4.6, while the single-motor RZ 350e takes 7.5 seconds. In terms of range, Lexus says the RZ 350e can reach up to 575 km on a single charge, while the RZ 500e and RZ 550e F Sport with their dual motors have a cruising range of up to 500 km and 450 km, respectively.

Apart from the updates to the BEV powertrain, all RZ models will now feature the next-generation Lexus Steer-by-Wire System for a better steering feel and an Interactive Manual Drive system for a more engaging driving experience. The latter synchronizes the acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle to a sound generator.

Other new features include exclusive color options for the RZ, additional front and rear spoilers for the F Sport, as well as aerodynamic wheels.
Lexus says the new RZ will be rolled out across various markets beginning around September 2025. Should that be the case, then the RZ could come out in the Philippine market as a 2026 model-year version.
