Jeep bids farewell to HEMI V8 with Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition
Out of the 3,700 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition, only 100 will be offered outside North America

When Dodge officially axed the V8-powered Charger and Challenger, it was only a matter of time before fellow Stellantis member Jeep would say goodbye to the venerable HEMI V8. With parent company Stellantis further embracing electrification as well as opting for more downsized turbocharged engines, the writing’s on the wall for the eight-cylinder engine.
After confirming that Jeep will indeed say farewell to the HEMI V8 earlier this year, the automaker has officially revealed the 2024 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition. Serving as the swan song to the AWD V8-powered 4x4, Jeep will only make a limited number of this special send-off.
What do you get in the 392 Final Edition? For starters, this particular Wrangler Rubicon gets exclusive exterior decals and badges to remind everyone it’s a special kind of 4x4. The hood and fender vents come with Final Edition decals while the rear tailgate features a unique plaque that shows it’s no ordinary Wrangler.

To highlight its capability off the beaten path, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition has upgraded frame rails, a factory 2-inch lift kit, unique suspension geometry, high-performance shocks for improved off-roading, and heavy-duty brakes. As an extra, it also gets the Xtreme 35 Tire Package which comes standard with 17-inch beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain rubber. And in case drivers need to get themselves out of a ditch (or help others get unstuck), it’s equipped with a factory-installed 8,000 lbs (3,628 kg) capacity Warn winch.
Inside, the Final Edition is wrapped in black Nappa leather with Mayan Gold contrast stitching and Tupelo highlights to make the cabin unique from the rest. Jeep even installed an upgraded 12.3-inch uConnect touchscreen infotainment display complete with a wide array of wireless connectivity features. There are also 12-way power-adjustable front seats and an optional air compressor that can pump air into tires should there be any punctures while going off-road. Last but not least, Jeep put a specially monogrammed medallion on the gear shifter.

From its namesake, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 pushing 477 PS and a whopping 637 Nm of torque. This allows the hefty 4x4 to sprint from 0 - 97 km/h in a brisk 4.5 seconds and finish the quarter mile in a blistering 13 seconds. This was made possible thanks to a smooth-shifting Torqueflite 8-speed automatic gearbox that drives all four wheels. Besides going fast, its drivetrain also gets a 48:1 crawl ratio and a special lock-up torque converter that allows the vehicle to crawl up (or down) steep slopes at idle speeds.
Only 3,700 examples will be made with 3,300 units already allocated for the US market. Meanwhile, Canada will get 300 units which means only 100 will be offered in international markets. With that, there will only be a lucky few who will be able to take home a piece of Jeep history.
