JAS Tensei: Pininfarina reimagines original NSX for the modern day
Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport will unveil the reborn NSX in the first half of 2026

Ayrton Senna’s favorite road car is making its return in 2026, but it will come out without a Honda badge.
Honda’s renowned racing partner JAS Motorsport has officially named its first production supercar as Tensei, a Japanese word meaning “rebirth.” The name reflects the project’s goal of creating a modern reinterpretation of the first-generation Honda NSX while staying true to the characteristics that made the original an icon.

Tensei was first revealed to a select group of customers during a private event hosted by JAS Asian Sales Partner SPS Global Ltd. at Fuji Speedway in November, and now the Italian motor racing team has confirmed the name publicly.
Designed by Pininfarina, the upcoming supercar will feature a carbon-fiber body and interior, adopting a more muscular design with new vents, larger rear-quarter intakes, and a hood vent reminiscent of the NA2 NSX-R.

The updated proportions also address the original NSX’s narrow rear track and extended rear overhang. Instead of Honda emblems, the model proudly carries JAS badging.
While the interior has not yet been revealed, Pininfarina says Tensei is intended as a road-focused supercar rather than a pure track machine. JAS confirms the car will use a tuned Honda V6 paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and it will be offered in both left- and right-hand drive. Power figures, production numbers, and pricing have not yet been announced.

A full global debut is expected in the first half of 2026. The reveal comes as several design houses revisit the OG NSX, with Italdesign also teasing its own NSX-inspired project featuring an NSX-R GT-style roof snorkel.
