Japanese tuning house HKS denies any collab claims with PH shop
Aftermarket specialist HKS clarifies claims of collaboration with Manila-based tuning shop

HKS is one of the most recognizable brands when it comes to aftermarket tuning for Japanese cars. Over the years, the company has provided customers with high-performance tuning parts ranging from engine internals, turbo kits, right down to full exhaust systems.
With an international sales and distribution network that spans globally, HKS is driven to protect the reputation and trust it has built to its valued customers, which is probably why they took to social media to disavow any relationship with a local tuning shop.
Recently, Manila-based tuning shop Speedlab Performance has claimed that it was working with HKS Shanghai – a China-based subsidiary of HKS Co. Ltd, to come up with an “exclusive exhaust system for turbo diesels and SUVs”.
The parent company itself has quickly stepped in to debunk the claim, stating that HKS has no affiliation or partnership with Speedlab Performance, nor does it have any plans to co-develop products with the company. The complete statement can be read below:

While the HKS company has manufacturing bases in Japan and Thailand, the aftermarket tuning company does not seem to have a factory in Shanghai, China. Upon checking out the HKS Global website, it reads that the subsidiary acts as a sales, distribution, and development space for the Chinese market.
It pays to verify these kinds of information by asking authorized dealers, or send a direct email to the company.
