Jacob Ang appointed as new boss of BMW Philippines
BMW Philippines' new president, Jacob Ang, succeeds Spencer Yu, who served for 7 years

A new boss is leading SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation (SMCACD), the official distributor of BMW in the Philippines.
This comes after the company officially appointed Jacob Ang as its new president, effective September 1, 2025. He succeeds Spencer Yu, who led BMW Philippines as president of the brand for seven years.
Ang steps into the role at a time when demand for premium vehicles in the country is growing, alongside rising interest in electrified vehicles. Currently, BMW Philippines offers ICE, EV, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles and includes models such as the recently launched G90/G99 M5 PHEV, the X5 xDrive50e PHEV, the iX & iX3 EVs, and the i5 eDrive40 EV.
Having been actively involved in the company’s efforts to modernize operations and enhance the customer experience, the company believes Ang is well-prepared to lead the brand into its next chapter of growth.
“Jacob’s leadership and fresh perspective will help us further strengthen BMW’s presence in the Philippines. We have built a strong foundation over the years, and with his energy and vision, I am confident he will take the brand further and create even more value for our customers,” said Ramon S. Ang, Chairman of SMCACD.
Meanwhile, Jacob Ang shared that he will prioritize building on what the company does best.
“This is an exciting time for our industry and for BMW in the Philippines. My priority is to build on what we do best — drive innovation in how we serve our customers, and strengthen BMW’s position as the leader in premium mobility in the country,” said Jacob Ang.
