JAC Motors to preview Ytterby EV hatchback at MIAS 2024
JAC Ytterby EV to compete against the likes of GWM Ora 03, BYD Dolphin and MG4

The 2024 Manila International Auto Show opens tomorrow at the SMX Convention Center and World Trade Center venues. But before the show even starts, we're already getting some surprise news from the participating brands.
JAC Motors has previously announced its initial five-car lineup for MIAS 2024, which will consist of three crossovers and two pickup trucks. However, during the Astara Group’s lunch event before MIAS, JAC is looking to add one more – an EV.

The vehicle we’re talking about is called the Ytterby. Known in the PRC as the JAC Yiwei 3 / EV3, the Ytterby is a pure-electric subcompact hatchback with retro-modern styling – a bit like the GWM Ora 03.
Speaking of which, the Ytterby also appears to have Mini Cooper-inspired styling, particularly with the hatchback silhouette and the lighting systems in the front and at the rear. At just over 4 meters long, the JAC Ytterby is about the same size as the now discontinued 3rd generation GK-chassis Honda Jazz.

There are still very few details about the Ytterby, but we should expect the EV hatchback to feature large dual screens inside for the instrument cluster and infotainment, as well as a funky-colored cabin to match the EV’s playful vibe.
Unlike JAC’s five ICE models, the Ytterby’s appearance at MIAS will be more of a preview. By our understanding, exact specifications have not been finalized yet, but the Ytterby EV could come in three variants – a base variant with a range of 330 km, as well as 400 and 500 km range versions. Power-wise, the Ytterby could have a single front motor that puts out 81 to 136 PS and torque from 135 to 175 Nm.

The Astara Group’s four brands will be present at both venues of this year’s Manila International Auto Show, which will run from April 4 to 7, 2024.
