Is Subaru launching facelifted Outback, Evoltis at MIAS 2023?

We're just about a month away from the premiere of this year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Set to run from April 13 to April 16, 2023, the latest edition of the annual auto show will once again see countless brands launch, reveal, and show off their newest and upcoming vehicles that will soon hit the Philippine road.

Subaru is one of the brands that always makes an appearance at every MIAS. While the automaker has yet to officially announce what they're going to debut at this year's auto show, we already received good information as to what models could actually make an appearance.

According to an anonymous source, Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP) will reveal not one but two vehicles at MIAS 2023, the refreshed Outback and Evoltis. First revealed last year, both vehicles received exterior and interior updates, as well as an upgraded EyeSight.

Starting with the Outback, the wagon crossover gets a more prominent grille, a pair of faux side air intakes, restyled LED headlights, and new foglights now placed just below the grille. Just like the all-new WRX, Subaru was a bit more liberal with the use of black body cladding to give the 2023 Outback a more rugged appearance.

The interior of the refreshed Outback has more or less been carried over. However, it now comes with the latest version of Subaru's EyeSight driver assist technology. Thanks to the newest update, EyeSight now includes automatic emergency steering to avoid a collision at speeds less than 80 km/h. It also gets a wide-angle mono camera to complement the dual-camera EyeSight system which gives it a wider field of view to recognize potential road hazards.

As for the Evoltis (AKA the Ascent in North America), the 7-seater SUV gets a more aggressive front fascia thanks to redesigned LED headlights, a bolder grille, revised LED foglights, new air ducts, and more prominent C-shaped LED taillights. The interior, meanwhile, has also been largely carried over for the facelift. However, Subaru mentioned that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have wireless capability. And just like the Outback, the Evoltis gets the same upgraded EyeSight technology suite.
