Is GAC PH launching E8, GS8 HEV models at MIAS 2026?
GAC will be present at this year's MIAS with not one, but two new vehicles

GAC Philippines is getting ready for the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), and they have two vehicles that are poised to make a statement at the World Trade Center Manila.
Based on a teaser photo the automaker has released, GAC will be revealing two vehicles at MIAS 2026. Despite being covered, it looks like GAC is set to launch the GS8 HEV (covered on the left) and the E8 HEV (covered on the right).

The mystery vehicle on the left features a distinct set of LED headlights and a prominent front bumper that looks to be the same one found on the GS8. Meanwhile, the vehicle on the right is seen with unique LED daytime running lights, which can only be found on the E8.

GAC Philippines started accepting pre-orders of the GS8 HEV last March, which indicates the automaker is set to debut it soon. Its specifications have yet to be revealed, although the Department of Energy (DOE) has already recognized it as an HEV. Moreover, it has been listed as a 2026 model year, has a maximum engine power of 140 kW or 190 PS from a 2.0L turbo inline-four, a 1.73 kWh battery pack, and will reportedly have a pair of electric motors.

Over to the E8 HEV, this one has also been recognized by the DOE as a hybrid and comes with a somewhat similar powertrain. It has a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four but only has a single electric motor. The former puts out 140 kW or 190 PS while the latter produces 134 kW or 182 PS. It also has a 1.8 kWh battery pack, which powers the electric motor. In China, GAC also sells a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the E8.
With this year's MIAS only one week away, we're hoping our hunch is right that GAC plans to reveal the GS8 and E8 HEVs.
