Is Changan PH launching 2023 CS55 Plus II soon?
Changan could introduce an all-new model before the year ends

We may have a clue about what Changan has recently posted on their official Facebook page.

Changan Philippines uploaded a teaser image of the number 55 painted on what looks like a parking slot, and beside it is a mystery vehicle wearing a five-spoke wheel with a red contrast accent on its rocker panel. In addition, the photo has a caption that reads “Special reservation”. With that said, these teasers point out that Changan could be launching the CS55 Plus II soon.
It's not the first time we've come across the CS55 Plus II in the country either. Recently, the Chinese brand was spotted testing the eye-catching crossover with its badges covered.

The Changan CS55 Plus II is a compact crossover that made its debut back in the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. And you guessed it, the CS55 Plus II is the middle ground between the CS35 Plus and CS75 Plus crossovers that Changan is offering in the country. Measuring 4500 mm long, 1855 mm wide, and 1690 mm high, the CS55 Plus II comes close to the dimensions of the Geely Azkarra and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.

Design-wise, the CS55 Plus II is just as youthful as the CS35 and CS75 Plus inside out. And interestingly, its dashboard layout is somewhat similar to Peugeot's i-Cockpit design with its compact steering wheel and instrument panel mounted on top of the dashboard.
In the markets where the CS55 Plus II is being sold, the crossover is powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine called the Blue Whale NE series. It produces 188 PS with 300 Nm of torque and is mated to a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission.

It will be interesting to see how Changan will price the CS55 Plus II once they officially launch the crossover. The top-spec CS35 Plus is priced at PHP 1.169-million, while the lone CS75 Plus variant sells for PHP 1.379-million. Given those numbers, we would not be surprised if the CS55 Plus gets a sticker price of around PHP 1.25-million. Hopefully, we get the exact number real soon.
