ICYMI: CALAX Silang Aguinaldo section no longer toll-free

Those who celebrated the long Chinese New Year weekend and used the Cavite Laguna Expressway (CALAX) might have been surprised that the Silang Aguinaldo segment is no longer toll-free. That’s because, since February 10, MPCALA Holdings Inc., the concessionaire of CALAX has officially started collecting toll fees in the aforementioned section of the expressway.

Approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), Class 1 motorists who will enter from Greenfield and exit at Silang Aguinaldo (and vice versa) will have to shell out PHP 81. On the other hand, Class 2 and Class 3 vehicles will have to pay PHP 163 and PHP 244, respectively. See the graphics below and check the toll rates in the other interchanges in CALAX.

The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange has become a vital part of our network, significantly enhancing the connectivity and economic landscape of the region,” said Raul L. In review, The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange was first opened to motorists last November 8, 2023, and serves as a faster means of getting to and from several tourist destinations. These include Tagaytay and Silang itself in Cavite. An average of 12,000 vehicles use the subsection of the toll road to get to their destinations, surpassing the targeted daily traffic of 5,000 vehicles for the recently inaugurated segment of CALAX.

Come 2025, CALAX is set to reach a total length of 45 kilometers and will have a total of eight interchanges. These are Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor’s Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange. Once fully completed, CALAX will seamlessly connect with the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) in Kawit.
