Hyundai releasing three small EVs by 2025

After the hype Hyundai generated in their N day event, the Korean car maker has its eyes on another market. There are talks going around about an updated Ioniq 5 N and even an Ioniq 7 SUV in the works but what’s more noticeable is that they are going after the small EV market. These new models may succeed the i10 and the world is watching. 

Recently, they locally revamped their lineup featuring very good-looking vehicles with the Staria being the centerpiece. Other regional markets will also be getting the Stargazer MPV, which we hope we can get also get. With these recent moves, it looks like Hyundai has found its second wind and is primed to take on the markets both locally and abroad. 

According to Automotive News Europe, the Korean car maker's next move is to make 3 new entry-level EVs. These small electric vehicles will be more attainable for the intended market and will meet the stricter emission regulations in the European Union. Set to arrive in 2025, Hyundai will try to target the EUR 20,000 (1.15 million pesos) bracket as the market is becoming very aware of its own carbon footprint and is very conscious of gas and diesel prices. 

With the 2040 mandate coming up and the industry going full electric soon, Hyundai is very mindful about its approach to electric vehicles. They have been using the EU market to gather data about the mobility needs of consumers and how the buyers react to their new vehicles. This helps the company pick its battles and figure out which models and technology to work on. They still believe that hydrogen is the future but their investors are urging them to focus more on electrification. 

Hyundai has prioritized the launch of the three Ioniq models and the world seems to love them. The Koreans know that making a profit on a small car is harder and that is why they are taking their time with the next three electric nameplates.

Rumore has it, the Ioniq 7 will be coming up next, so look for clues that will lead to the line expanding in the mini department. Locally, we have become more aware of EVs and HEVs, the demand is growing while the charging network is now also being built. Will Hyundai send the new Ioniq line here in the Philippines?
