Hyundai Elantra to make PH comeback at MIAS 2025?
The compact sedan market in the country is about to heat up once more

Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) will have one heck of a launch at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). While the automaker was coy with the exact details, the teasers they have been releasing days before MIAS 2025 all point to one vehicle.

After several years of absence, the mystery vehicle that Hyundai will likely launch later this week is the all-new Hyundai Elantra. Now on its seventh generation, the Elantra is set to make a comeback in the Philippine market and take on the likes of the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Honda Civic.

The exact specifications of the all-new Hyundai Elantra have yet to be revealed. But based on the regulatory approvals the automaker received as of late, we can expect the compact sedan to be available with a wide array of engine choices.

One of the possible engine variants is a 1.6L hybrid powertrain that displaces 1580cc and is assisted by an electric motor. In other markets, the Elantra Hybrid makes 141 PS with 265 Nm of torque and is helped by a 1.32 kWh battery pack. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Other possible engine choices for the all-new Elantra include a 1.6L (1591cc) naturally-aspirated inline-four that produces 127 PS with 144 Nm of torque and a 1.6L (1598cc) turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 204 PS and 265 Nm of torque. The former is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox (or a 6-speed manual), while the turbocharged variant gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
With only days away before this year's MIAS, we're going to be keeping our eyes peeled for any possible leaks or additional info before the annual auto show opens to the public.
