Hongqi's AWD EVs deliver impressive energy numbers at 2025 DOE Eco Run
The EHS7 AWD, EH7 AWD, and EHS9 AWD achieve 48.79 km/Lge, 51.16 km/Lge, and 40.57 km/Lge, respectively

Hongqi Philippines reinforces its commitment to combining high performance with real-world efficiency as its all-wheel-drive (AWD) battery electric vehicles posted impressive results at the Department of Energy (DOE) Eco Run held on September 24, 2025.
The eco run covered a 154.5-kilometer route from Tarlac through Pangasinan to La Union via the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX). The run included a wide mix of internal combustion vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and battery electric vehicles, with most BEVs running single-motor drivetrains and only a few participating with dual-motor AWD systems, all under highway driving conditions.

EHS7
Hongqi used the powerful dual-motor AWD variants of the EH7 midsize sedan, EHS7 midsize SUV, and EHS9 full-size SUV. Both the EH7 and EHS7 AWD generate 610 PS with 756 Nm of torque, while the EHS9 makes 544 PS with 750 Nm of torque. Hongqi's vehicles had one of the highest horsepower and torque outputs among the vehicles in the run.

EH7
During the test, the vehicles were driven to reflect typical highway behavior—accelerating to overtake slower traffic at 100 km/h before returning to a cruising speed of 80 km/h. Even under these real-world highway conditions, all three vehicles still delivered exceptional energy efficiency results, reflecting Hongqi’s balanced approach to performance and efficiency.

“The DOE Eco Run results reaffirm Hongqi’s commitment to delivering electric vehicles that combine exceptional performance with real-world efficiency. Hongqi’s BEVs demonstrate that high performance and efficiency can go hand in hand. From our dual-motor AWD models to single-motor RWD vehicles, each achieves strong power and notable energy efficiency, reflecting our commitment to engineering excellence and a refined driving experience across the entire lineup,” said Rashid Delgado, president of Hongqi Philippines.

Those interested in experiencing Hongqi’s electric vehicles firsthand are encouraged to visit the brand’s showrooms in BGC, Alabang, Manila Bay, and Quezon City.
