Honda to launch all-new Civic Type R on July 21

After a lengthy development phase and a series of intensive performance tests around the best circuits in the world, Honda is finally ready to shed the camouflage off the next-generation Civic Type R.

The date is set – July 21 will mark the global reveal of Honda's ultimate hot hatch, which promises to be the best Civic Type R ever.

Honda's teaser image of the uncamouflaged Civic Type R coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Civic lineage that first went on sale in 1972. In addition, this year also represents the 25th year of the red H-badged Type R line. Yes, Civic enthusiasts. The EK9 is now 25 years old.

With only a few days left, Honda is still mum about the mechanical details of the 2023 Civic Type R, but long-standing rumors suggest the new model will still have the K20C1 VTEC Turbo, albeit tweaked to extract more performance.
