Honda previews three new stylish EVs

Honda is out to prove it can develop and produce more electric vehicles (EVs) in the coming years. In the past several months, Honda confirmed it has partnered up with Nissan to build EVs and has also revealed two cutting-edge concepts, the Space-Hub & Saloon 0 EVs.

In Southeast Asia, Honda has also started production of the e:N1 crossover EV at its Prachinburi factory in Thailand. That means we can expect the all-electric version of the HR-V to make its way to ASEAN countries soon.

Today, the automaker has revealed several more EVs in a bid to catch up to the other brands that have already established themselves with electric mobility. Set to make their debut at the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) later this month are a trio of Honda EVs – the S7, the P7, and the GT Concept.

The Honda Ye P7 EV

Part of Honda's new “Ye” series models, the upcoming EVs will complement the e:N Series EV models that the automaker is already selling in China. Starting with the P7 and S7, the two EVs were developed on a new dedicated EV platform and will be offered in two powertrain options; a single rear-wheel drive version and a two-motor all-wheel drive offering.

Despite their crossover-like appearance, the two EVs by Honda were designed in pursuit of the “joy of driving”. The rear-wheel drive variation is set to offer a sporty and crisp handling while the all-wheel drive version will deliver high power and highly responsive handling.

The Honda Ye S7 EV

No cabin images were shown although Honda did say that both vehicles offer a spacious interior thanks to the lack of a traditional powertrain. In addition, it has plenty of LED lights on the instrument panel and door panels that change in conjunction with AI-powered assistance & other functions.

The GT Concept, on the other hand, features a low & wide silhouette that highlights the vehicle's Grand Tourer design. Borrowing inspiration from race car driving, the Ye GT Concept is set to provide drivers with the ultimate driving experience. With an emphasis on uniting the driver and vehicle as one, the GT Concept will highly likely preview a performance-oriented EV.

Both the S7 and P7 are set to go on sale at the end of 2024 while production models of the GT Concept will hit the market before the end of 2025.

With Honda showing that they are serious when it comes to building new EVs, we certainly cannot wait for what they have in store in the future.
