Honda PH says 1,000 BR-V units sold since launch

A month just before the holidays last year, Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) officially revealed the all-new BR-V. The latest 7-seater from Honda is now taking the fight against the likes of the Toyota Veloz, Mitsubishi Xpander, and the Suzuki Ertiga XL7.

During the reveal, we asked Atty. Louie Soriano, General Manager at HCPI, how many vehicles they are looking to sell. The executive said that they plan to sell around 800 to 900 units per month and that they are looking to acquire 20% of the small SUV market with the 2023 BR-V.

Fast forward to January 2023, and it seems Honda was able to achieve its goal of selling around 800 to 900 units monthly. Speaking once more with Atty. Soriano at a media drive, the executive shared with AutoIndustriya.com that they have sold over 1,000 units of the 2023 BR-V.

Soriano did not mention which variant of the all-new BR-V is currently the most popular. However, our best guess is that it's the top-of-the-line VX with Honda Sensing. According to an insider who wished for anonymity, there is currently a 2-month waiting period for the range-topping VX. This leads us to believe that the VX is currently the best-selling variant of the all-new BR-V.

But can the Indonesia plant from where HCPI gets the all-new BR-V keep up with demand? Despite the 2-month waiting period for the top-of-the-line VX, our insider also shared with us that the waiting time for the mid-range and entry-level S variants is shorter compared to the VX. This means those who prefer the more affordable models of the 2023 BR-V may be able to get their hands on a unit faster than those that ordered the VX.

With HCPI successfully selling 1,000 units of the all-new BR-V, we can expect to see more of Honda's popular 7-seater populate our roads soon.
