Honda debuts HRC-spec concept models of Civic Type R, Prelude
Honda unveils new HRC-spec concept models at the Tokyo Auto Salon

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled new concept models at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, showcasing its “passion for driving performance.” The company introduced two product lines, Sport Line for on-road models and Trail Line for off-road models. This reflects the future direction of Honda vehicles rooted in its long-standing Sports DNA.
The Sport Line consists of an HRC-spec Civic Type R and a Prelude concept model, leveraging expertise from Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). Building on this Sports DNA, Honda plans to expand its sport-type lineup and introduce more HRC-spec production models, incorporating racing technologies and driver feedback.

Civic Type R HRC Concept
Developed from the Civic Type R and engineered in pursuit of “ultimate pure sports performance," the Civic Type R HRC Concept integrates advanced technologies and know-how from Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), shaped by direct input from its racing drivers.

By applying lessons learned at the highest levels of motorsports, this HRC-spec concept pushes dynamic performance even further, delivering a more intense and precisely controlled driving experience. The result is a uniquely Honda expression of the “joy of driving,” refined through continuous development in the most demanding racing environments.

Prelude HRC Concept
Honda is currently developing HRC Performance Parts for the all-new Prelude. These parts are engineered specifically to elevate driving performance, drawing directly on the technologies, data, and expertise accumulated through Honda’s extensive racing activities.

The Prelude HRC Concept showcases the potential of these HRC Performance Parts, demonstrating how race-proven engineering can be applied to a production-based platform to further sharpen responsiveness, handling, and overall driver engagement to deliver a more dynamic and performance-focused driving experience
