Honda Cars PH recalls 2022 MY Civics for steering gearbox replacement
Replacement will be free of charge and will only take 3.5 hours

Have you been hearing unusual noises when you turn the steering wheel of your 2022 Honda Civic? Even if you have not, bring it to the dealership because Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) issued a recall for all 2022 model-year Civics due to an improperly installed/manufactured steering gearbox.
There are 1,025 units affected by the recall. Due to its installation or manufacturing issue, the grease applied on the worm gear gets depleted, which causes a stick-slip, leading to an ‘unusual sound when turning the steering wheel.’
Fortunately, the faulty gearbox has not caused any accidents in the Philippines. Nevertheless, HCPI requests affected Honda Civic owners to bring their units to any of the 37 authorized Honda dealers and four service centers nationwide for steering gearbox replacement. The parts and labor are free of charge, and it will only take three and a half (3.5) hours to complete.
HCPI will notify all owners of affected vehicles. In case, the unit was sold, HCPI will seek assistance to obtain the contact information of the new owners. Owners may also check if their car is part of the recall by encoding the 17-digit Chassis Number or Vehicle Identification Number in the recall information webpage at www.hondaphil.com/recall.
HCPI would like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank its customers for their continued support and cooperation.
