Honda 0 α Prototype debuts at 2025 Japan Mobility Show
Honda unveils new SUV with electric power

Honda officially made its presence at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show after launching not one, but two new EVs. One of which is the Honda 0 α (alpha), a next-generation electric SUV prototype that represents the latest evolution of the brand’s upcoming 0 Series lineup.
Following the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV introduced earlier this year at CES 2025, the new Honda 0 α will serve as a “gateway model” into the Honda 0 Series lineup. Designed to fit seamlessly into both urban and natural environments, the 0 α blends modern style, practicality, and a spacious cabin to deliver exceptional comfort for all occupants.
Like other models in the series, the Honda 0 α embodies the brand’s new EV development philosophy, “Thin, Light, and Wise.” These principles guide the creation of vehicles that are efficient, intelligent, and enjoyable to drive. Honda plans to launch the production version globally, starting in Japan and India by 2027.

Honda’s “Thin” packaging approach gives the 0 α a low-slung profile without sacrificing ground clearance, resulting in a sleek cabin that still feels spacious and comfortable for occupants. The SUV’s wide stance adds a sense of stability while emphasizing the dynamic proportions typical of Honda’s SUV lineup.
The exterior design balances sophistication and functionality. Both the front and rear feature integrated screen areas that unify traditionally separate elements for a cleaner look. Up front, the headlights, charging lid, and illuminated emblem are seamlessly combined into a single display, while at the rear, U-shaped lighting merges the tail lamps, backup lights, and turn signals, highlighting the sculpted contours of the back end and giving the 0 α a distinctive, modern signature.
The 0 α could play a key role in making the brand’s electric mobility more accessible, appealing to both new EV buyers and long-time Honda fans looking for a balance of innovation, style, and everyday usability.
