HODL: 19th Tan Chong Car Challenge this weekend
The Battle of the Best: PH Subaru Car Challenge Winners Set to Compete for Last One Standing Title at the 19th Tan Chong Car Challenge in Singapore

The 19th Tan Chong Car Challenge (TCCC), organized by Tan Chong International Limited, has generated immense interest, drawing both past participants and newcomers eager to compete.
This event is making a comeback after its last pre-pandemic edition in 2019 and will take place on November 4 and 5, 2023, at the iconic Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza in Singapore, promising excitement for contestants, supporters, and the audience.
PH Qualifying Round: 2023 Subaru Car Challenge
This past October 28, Motor Image Philippines organized the Subaru Car Challenge at Festival Mall in Alabang, where five champions were crowned: Cyrus Corpuz, Joy Paguntalan, Reggie Purugganan, Alex Neblasca Jr., and Chrisley Adelan.
These victors endured the challenge of keeping their palms firmly planted within the palm decals on the displayed Subarus, all in the hope of securing these coveted spots in the Singapore leg, for the one shot at winning the grand prize.
Given the limited available slots for local participants, more than 190 Singaporean citizens and permanent residents (PRs) eagerly registered online starting from September 15, hoping for an opportunity to compete and the chance to take home the grand prize. To determine the 145 allocated slots for Singapore participants, registrants will go through a random lottery draw for their spot at one of the six cars decked out in the iconic palm stickers.
What can contestants stand to win?
The contest will see participants from across Asia hold and keep their palms on assigned vehicles and complete challenges designed to test stamina and challenge agility and wit.
Secondary prizes are also up for grabs. The competition space will feature six vehicles such as the Subaru Forester e-BOXER Hybrid that both local and regional contestants will be placing their palms on, rain or shine, day and night.
Should the ultimate winner hail from the Philippines, the champion will win a Subaru Crosstrek i-L EyeSight.
Also, up for grabs are the Runners-up Cash Prizes:
- The First runner-up will win SGD$5,000.00
- The Second runner-up will win SGD$1,000.00

“The Tan Chong Car Challenge brings back an iconic Asian competition that has drawn crowds for nearly two decades. Participants compete in a battle of physical and mental endurance, underscored by values of determination and perseverance. This exciting endurance event also strengthens bonds between Tan Chong International and local communities.
To this end, Tan Chong is happy to share that we are donating 100% of the proceeds from the registration fees contributed by the contestants of the Singapore leg. All proceeds from the registration fees will be donated to Methodist Welfare Services (MWS). Their tireless efforts to enrich the lives of the vulnerable reflect the values shared by Tan Chong.
In addition, I would also like to welcome both veteran TCCC supporters and new fans to Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza this weekend. This family-friendly weekend, packed with fun and action, reminds us that when we come together united by shared values, we can accomplish great things,” said Mr. Glenn Tan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Tan Chong International Limited.
As part of the Tan Chong Car Challenge's goodwill initiative, an SGD$25 registration fee has been introduced for participants in the Singapore leg. In return, each participant will receive a goody bag filled with merchandise valued at over SGD$25, as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation.
Importantly, all the registration fees collected will be donated towards a charitable cause, benefiting the Methodist Welfare Services (MWS). This decision to support MWS was made because its values, which include trust, respect, uncompromising integrity, and teamwork, align closely with those of Tan Chong International Limited. Furthermore, MWS's mission to uplift individuals, unlock their potential, and foster hope resonates deeply with the spirit of the Tan Chong Car Challenge.
The organizers are grateful for the support of key partners: AIG, CocoLoco, Motul, Sonax, and Yokohama Tires. AIG, this event’s presenting sponsor, has an exclusive "On the Go" app activity this weekend for a chance to win prizes, making the event a vibrant community experience.
The Tan Chong Car Challenge's energy and community spirit return to Singapore this weekend. Get the latest updates at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza on November 4th and 5th at https://www.carchallenge.asia/.
