Hiace 300: Japanese tuner does an LC face-swap

The 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon may have already concluded, but that doesn't mean we have seen every unique (and wild) build that showed at the annual auto show. Heck, the vehicle you're seeing right now may just be one of the wildest yet.

What looks to be a Frankenstein of a vehicle at first is actually a special build done by Japanese tuner B-Dash. They took a fifth-generation Hiace, replaced its face with the one from a Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, added some extra features including a powerful audio system, and named it the “Getsu Ace”.

That's right, the headlights, grille, and even the intakes all come from the LC 300. Meanwhile, the front bumper comes from Wald which gives the people carrier a “slammed” van look. There are also body-colored extensions, aftermarket side skirts and rear bumper, 20-inch alloy wheels by Project D, and a custom Dark Red Mica Metallic paint finish.

Over to the interior, the people carrier has been outfitted with a high-end sound system by sound specialist Diecock. With a multitude of speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers, the inside of the Getsu Ace may just be every audiophile's dream setup. Don't expect a row of seats inside this particular Hiace as the tuner replaced them with a six-seater configuration – turning the people carrier into a luxury van with a booming sound system.

No mechanical upgrades were mentioned by the Japanese tuner. That means the turbo-diesel (or gasoline-powered) engine probably remains the same. However, they did modify the chassis to house an air suspension system which could explain the lowered appearance of the tricked-out people carrier.
