Great Wall's Ora Good Cat is one cute looking EV
Ora launches Good Cat EV at 2021 Bangkok International Motor Show

One of the stand-out displays during the 2021 Bangkok International Motor Show was the Ora Good Cat. Is it the first time you heard about the car and the Ora marque? Well, you're not the only one. Ora is a sub-brand of Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors dedicated to building electric vehicles.

While the moniker Good Cat might be funny, it is a literal translation of its Chinese name, Hao Mao. Well, it also matches the EV's cute adorable styling.
Upfront, the round headlights make it somewhat resemble a Volkswagen or Porsche. That aside, the bumper is closed off apart from a central intake vent in the lower section. There's no grille here since it is an EV. At the rear, a pair of horizontal strips act as taillights. Though not seen, the hatchback features a panoramic sunroof.

The Good Cat rides on the GWM LEMON platform for EVs. The automaker claims the hatchback is capable of 500 km on a single charge. In China, the EV's electric powertrain produces 145 HP and 210Nm torque. It is also equipped with a wide range of safety features, including automatic emergency braking and blindspot assist. There's even a system that warns occupants if they are about to be rear-ended.

Great Wall Motors even had a modified version of the Good Cat on display. It features wide fenders, a splitter, and even a rear wing. Noticeably, it sits lower on the ground and rides on deep-dish multi-spoke wheels. Unfortunately, there are no details on whether this variant has tweaks made to the EV powertrain.
It would be interesting if the Ora Good Cat will be offered in the Philippines. While there is no word on pricing from Thailand, it should be a relatively low-cost electric vehicle. Should it land here with a competitive price tag, it might help EVs gain traction in the country.
