Great Wall Motors enter PH crossover arena with Haval H6, Jolion hybrids
The 2023 Haval H6 comes with a 1.5-liter turbo hybrid while the Jolion is fitted with a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter hybrid

After announcing its intentions to set up shop here in the country late last year, Great Wall Motors (GWM) has formally introduced itself to the Philippine auto market. To make a grand statement about their arrival in the country, the automaker revealed not one, but two vehicles under their Haval brand.

Say hello to the 2023 Haval H6 and Jolion crossovers. Not only do both vehicles feature a stylish and high-tech design, but the two are also hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) which are aimed at producing fewer emissions, being fuel efficient, as well as still delivering quick acceleration.

The Haval H6 features a distinct front end that is dominated by a Peugeot-like grille and sleek LED headlights. The rear, on the other hand, gets eye-catching full-width LED taillights and a chrome centerpiece that provides additional eye candy.

As for the Jolion, it gets the same Peugeot-like grille design as the H6 but comes with a meaner-looking set of LED headlights, along with fang-like LED daytime running lights. Towards the back, the Jolion gets inverted L-shaped taillights that make it stand out from the H6.

Size-wise, the H6 is the bigger vehicle as it measures 4653mm long, 1886mm wide, 1724mm tall, and has a 2738mm wheelbase. On the other hand, the Jolion is slightly smaller as it's only 4472mm long, 1814mm wide, 1619mm tall, and comes with a 2700mm wheelbase.

Haval H6 interior
Open the doors and Jolion and H6 invite occupants into a minimalist yet tech-laden cabin. A large touchscreen infotainment system dominates the center of the interior of the two vehicles. Below the touchscreen is a control panel for the automatic climate control system. Also worth mentioning inside the H6 and Jolion is the use of a rotary-style gear selector, leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a fully-digital instrument panel, push-button start, an electronic parking brake, and a wireless charging pad.

Other details regarding interior features and amenities are not yet available. However, we can expect the H6 and Jolion to be available with the following; Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bluetooth, front and rear USB charging ports, keyless entry, power-adjustable seats, and selectable drive modes.
Both the H6 and Jolion crossovers are powered by a 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain. However, the H6 is the only one to have a turbocharged four-cylinder. This gives the H6 an impressive 240 PS along with a whopping 530 Nm of torque. The Jolion may only have a naturally-aspirated inline-four, but it still puts out a respectable 186 PS and a generous 375 Nm of pull.

A plethora of intelligent driver aids, as well as a long list of safety equipment are expected to be available in both H6 and Jolion crossovers. Official pricing and available variants for the 2023 Jolion and H6 have yet to be revealed. However, we can expect GWM to reveal more details about it closer to the launch.

Heck, they will be present at this year's Manila International Auto Show to allow interested show-goers to get a closer look at the Haval H6 and Jolion.
