Goodyear celebrates milestone with 125 Years In Motion regional event
Goodyear unveils four new premium product lines for Asia Pacific region in its 125th anniversary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was founded on August 29, 1898, in Akron, Ohio, where they originally manufactured bicycle and carriage tires, horseshoe pads, and poker chips. But along with the advent of the automobile, Goodyear has consistently innovated multi-brand product portfolios to deliver confident mobility for drivers around the world.

Celebrating its 125th year in business, Goodyear held a regional event in Malaysia with the theme Goodyear: 125 Years in Motion.

The manufacturer held a technology showcase at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur where they treated guests, delegates, and the media with interactive displays, product demonstrations, as well as innovative solutions that we could expect from them in the coming years.

Along with the technology showcase, Goodyear unveiled four new tire products for the Asia Pacific region, namely: the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 high-performance tire, the Wrangler DuraTrac RT for SUVs and off-road trucks, the ElectricDrive tire made specifically for EVs, and the Assurance MaxGuard passenger car tire.

“Asia Pacific has emerged as one of the world’s largest automotive markets and holds incredible potential. Goodyear’s innovative spirit and drive for excellence puts us at the epicenter of the mobility revolution and we are working closely with customers and innovators to transform the transportation industry” said Nathaniel Madarang, Goodyear Asia Pacific president.

To give us firsthand experience on what these new tire products can do, Goodyear took the media to the Sepang International Circuit. This is where different driving exercises were done to highlight the performance of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 on a high-speed track, the Wrangler DuraTrac RT's grip and durability in an off-road course, and the Assurance MaxGuard's impressive stability and control in both dry and wet surfaces.

As for the Philippine market, Goodyear is set to launch three of these four new products by 2023 and 2024.
