Glamp in style with 2022 Hyundai Staria Lounge Camper
Staria Lounge Camper is Hyundai's idea of a (luxury) camper van

If there's one thing that we wish we could do more frequently, it's to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the great outdoors. But in order to fully enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer, we would also need a suitable vehicle that fulfills our camping (or glamping) needs.

Hyundai seems to have taken that idea and cranked it up to 11. That's because the automaker recently transformed a Staria into the ultimate camper van. Say hello to the 2022 Hyundai Staria Lounge Camper.

Now available in Korea, this adventure-ready Staria is available in 11- and 4-seater configurations, and comes with an electrically-deployable pop-out roof tent. Not only does this allow for more headroom, but it will also allow customers to enjoy the outdoors while still being inside the van. For added peace of mind, the Staria Lounge Camper even comes with a mosquito net to keep those pesky bugs from entering the vehicle.

As far as amenities are concerned, this Staria has a long list of features. From a 36-liter refrigerator, a faucet sink, folding and sliding tables, built-in shelves, an air mattress, and a deployable awning, this camper van comes loaded. You can even hook up a shower head to the back of the Staria Lounge Camper to freshen up after a long hike. Last but not least, it has various power sockets at the back to keep your devices charged up while in the great outdoors.

Under the hood, the minivan is available with two engine options. First is a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel that makes 177 PS with 431 Nm of torque. The other motor is a 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 that produces 272 PS plus 331 Nm of torque. In order for the Staria Lounge Camper to take on (almost) any terrain, it's available with the optional all-wheel drive HTRAC system.

The 2022 Staria Lounge Camper is now on sale in Korea and starts at KRW 49,470,000 (about PHP 2.092 million) for the 11-seater version. Meanwhile, the 4-seater version commands a more premium price tag of KRW 68,500,000 (about PHP 2.898 million). These amounts show it's competitively priced for a fully-equipped camper van straight from the factory.

With the all-new Staria set to be officially launched later this year under a new distributor, should they bring some examples of the Lounge Camper in the not-so-distant future? Let us know in the comments.
