Geneva 2017: Alpine returns with all-new A110

French sports car manufacturer Alpine is back. After years of teaser campaign and concept cars, Alpine marks their comeback with a mid-engined, set to go against the likes of the Porsche 718 Cayman and Alfa Romeo 4C.

Alpine brings back the iconic A110 name from their past for their mid-engined sports car. Looking at the car, it has made a seamless transition from concept to production. Renault executives did say that the Alpine Vision concept is “80%” of the production 

Like the concept, the all-new A110 follows the form of its forebear. It has a 'teardrop' shape, called 'Berlinette' in past Alpine speak. The round headlights, door mounted mirrors and wraparound rear windshield are also reminiscent of the 70's icon. On top of that, it utilizes an aluminum-extensive chassis and body, along with a flat floor. Alpine says the flat floor eliminates the need for a rear wing

At the moment, Alpine has yet to release photos of the A110's interior. Also yet to be announced are its engine options. Early reports suggest a Renault Clio RS sourced 1.6-liter turbocharged four cylinder or a 1.8-liter turbocharged mill specifically built for the Alpine A110. More details will be available once the car is displayed at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
