Geely Radar joins UAAGI's auto empire in PH
Geely's Radar is the next addition to UAAGI's automotive house of brands in the Philippines

United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), a prominent player in the Philippine automotive market, has officially added Geely's electric vehicle (EV) lifestyle brand, Radar, to its expanding roster. This announcement marks a significant step for the adoption of electric pickup trucks and outdoor lifestyle vehicles in the country.
AutoIndustriya.com learned of this development last month but was advised to hold off any publication as the official agreement was yet to be signed. We can now say for certain as the official agreement was signed just a few moments ago today.

Radar, a brand under the Geely Holding Group, is known for its innovative approach to electric mobility, particularly with its fully electric pickup truck, the Radar RD6 (also known as the Riddara Horizon in some markets). The RD6 boasts impressive features such as a long driving range (up to 632 km based on CLTC standards), a spacious cargo bed, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, making it a versatile option for both urban and outdoor adventures.
UAAGI, which already distributes the Foton, Chery, BAIC, and Lynk & Co brands in the Philippines, is strategically positioning itself to cater to the growing demand for new energy vehicles. The inclusion of Radar to their portfolio further strengthens their commitment to offering diverse and sustainable mobility solutions to Filipino consumers.

"We are thrilled to welcome Radar to the UAAGI family," said Mr. Rommel Sytin, Chairman of UAAGI.
"Radar's unique focus on electric lifestyle vehicles, particularly their groundbreaking pickup trucks, aligns perfectly with our vision of providing innovative and future-forward transportation options for the Filipino market. We believe that Radar will resonate strongly with individuals who seek both practicality and a sustainable lifestyle," Sytin added.

The Geely Radar RD6 stands out as the brand's flagship model, an all-electric mid-size pickup truck built on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). It offers both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, with power outputs reaching up to 315 kW (428 PS). Battery options range from 63 kWh to 100 kWh, offering various levels of range to suit different needs.

The interior of the RD6 shares design elements with the Geely Haoyue SUV, emphasizing comfort and technology. Key features include a large central control screen, multiple charging outlets, and a substantial cargo capacity, complemented by a front trunk ("frunk") for additional storage. Apart from the RD6, Radar is also set to reveal a plug-in hybrid vehicle at the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2025 - a model that could also possibly enter the PH market.
This move by UAAGI signifies the increasing interest and investment in electric vehicles within the Philippines. With government initiatives and growing consumer awareness towards sustainability, the introduction of Radar's electric pickup trucks is expected to be a welcome addition to the local automotive landscape.
“In 2025, RADAR will enter a new phase of global cooperation,” says Dr. Ling Shiquan, CEO of Radar. “The brand will strengthen its presence in other mature markets, aiming for 30,000 units in global sales in 2025, and NEV pickup market leadership in every region.”
Further details regarding the specific Radar models to be offered in the Philippines, pricing, and availability will be announced by UAAGI in the coming months. Industry analysts anticipate that Radar's entry will create a new niche in the Philippine market, catering to those seeking an eco-friendly yet capable vehicle for both work and leisure.
